ACKLEY, IA – Hansen Family Hospital is pleased to announce the purchase of an EKG machine at Ackley Medical Center through a grant provided by the Ackley Community Foundation. The EKG (electrocardiogram) machine is a vital piece of medical equipment used to monitor the electrical activity of the heart and records the heart’s rhythm and rate. This allows providers to detect irregularities, such as arrhythmias or signs of heart disease and cardiac distress, which might not be visible through routine physical exams alone.
Patty Uhlenhopp, Ackey Medical Center Clinic Coordinator said, “This new EKG machine plays a key role in enhancing the services we provide to our patients. Early diagnosis is critical when it comes to heart health. At Ackley Medical Center, we are committed to your health, and we look forward to continuing to serve you with the best possible care.”
Noah Goedken, Foundation Director said of the grant, “We are grateful for the generosity of the Ackley Community Foundation and for their investment in the health of their community. This equipment enhances our ability to quickly and accurately diagnose heart conditions, ensuring patients receive timely, life-saving care close to home. Investments like this strengthen Iowa healthcare and showcase the power of community support in advancing local medical services.”
Since its establishment in 2001, the Hansen Family Hospital Foundation has been committed to its mission of fostering charitable partnerships that enhance healthcare for those we have the privilege to serve. The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors made up of members of the community, local businesses, and representatives from the medical staff, administration, Board of Directors, and employees of Hansen Family Hospital.
The Ackley Community Foundation is an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa.
