Types of Gifts

Here are some great options that will allow you to support our mission in ways that benefit you as well. We hope that you will take advantage of this opportunity to make a difference and give back to your community! Contact your tax or financial advisor to learn about possible tax advantages for your gift.

Unrestricted Gifts

These gifts are used to meet immediate and future needs.

Designated Gifts

Occasionally the Foundation will raise funds for a specific project, program or improvement. If no campaign is in progress, an unrestricted gift is a way to contribute towards a future need to be named by the hospital.

Memorial and Tribute Gifts

A lasting way to remember and honor a loved one, friend, co-worker, or recognize your care by a provider or a department at Hansen Family Hospital. When we receive your gift, an acknowledgement card will be sent to the person or family being honored. The amount of the gift will not be disclosed to the individual or family. Memorial gifts go the general unrestricted fund. To make a gift, please include the name of the person or people you wish to honor or memorialize, and the name and address for anyone who should be notified of your generosity.

Matching Gifts

Many corporations and businesses sponsor matching gift programs. This is a great opportunity to involve your employer and co-workers to support a service or meet a need at Hansen Family Hospital. Contact your employer for more information.

Annual Giving

Our annual giving program is a coordinated effort to cultivate interest and support for Hansen Family Hospital. This is our way of reminding our community our hospital is supported through its own revenues and the generosity of our community. Private donations through the Foundation support the hospital needs today and in the future through capital purchases and program support.

Planned Giving

Establish a legacy with the Hansen Family Hospital Foundation. This program provides opportunities for individuals with estate plans and financial circumstances that would be enhanced by the tax savings of planned gifts. Apart from the tax benefits, these individuals primarily want to advance the work of the Foundation.

Individuals make contributions under planned giving by naming the Hansen Family Hospital Foundation in a bequest through a will; as beneficiary of an insurance policy or annuity; as a recipient of appreciated property or securities, or as the beneficiary of other financial arrangements that may relieve the donor of tax responsibilities. There are planned giving opportunities that can also assure lifetime income while providing the donor with a tax deduction.

Special Events

The Foundation hosts various special fundraising events throughout the year. The Foundation is also the recipient of proceeds raised through a Golf Tournament each summer. Proceeds from these activities go to the Foundation for the benefit of the Hansen Family Hospital's programs and services.

Capital Campaign

Most recently, the Foundation sponsored a capital campaign during 2011-2012. The capital campaign was part of a three-way financial partnership with Hardin County and the City of Iowa Falls to build a new hospital. This special effort raised $7 million. View a list of our community partners.

Hardin County Community Endowment Foundation

The gifts and investments into our fund with the Hardin County Community Endowment Foundation are able to provide financial stability that is sometimes missing in healthcare. By providing funds in this manner, the future of quality healthcare in Hardin County will remain. Donate now to the Community Endowment Fund established for the Hansen Family Hospital Foundation.
